I am writing my interpretation on Mark Binelli’s story “Kid Cannabis: The Wild Rise and Violent Fall of Teenage Weed Kingpin. I have learned alot about how to right my personal profile in my personal narrative by reading this. For example, Binelli writes his personal profile on the “Teenage Weed Kingpin” in present tense, even though the actions happened in the past. Also he shows the convicts as real people, despite the felony charges and crimes they have found guilty and convicted for. Benelli uses foreshadowing during the interview by including the quote “Nate just laughed, institution he wouldn't stop until he went to prison.”Throughout the whole profile, he writes in a casual tone, using slang and curse words. Mark Binelli also shows his casual tone by the use of comic relief. He does this by adding “Buffy's” quote “and my cat titty bar bob had broken his back, and he got addicted to the painkillers. He’d crawl up the sides of the wall to get them. It was a weird summer.” Mark Benelli shows an excellent example of a personal profile by the casual tone and the tense that he uses, switching around from then and know, and shows the felony convicts as the true normal teenagers who just made a huge mistake.
